William J Bytnar

William “Bill” Bytnar, of Gary, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2026.

Bill is survived by his children, Lori Wohlwend, Brian Bytnar, Michael Bytnar, and Christine Bytnar; stepchildren, Heidi Brown and Mark Stevenson; grandchildren, Justin, Zachary, Lauren, Linzie, Brian, Watson, Pearl, and Wylder; and step-grandchildren, Riley, Hailey, Vala, and Cain. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Linda Bytnar; and siblings, Cheryn Swallow and Robert Bytnar.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Geraldine Bytnar.

Bill graduated from Bogan High School with the Class of 1968. He retired from Bill's Produce in Griffith, Indiana. Bill enjoyed watching Chicago sports, loved hanging with his grandchildren and visiting Fox's Pizza in Chicago.

We will forever cherish the memories, laughter, and moments we shared. Though life will never be quite the same without him, his love will always be part of us.

Dad, we wish we had just one more day, one more laugh, and one more chance to tell you how much we love you.
