Virginia A. Balog, age 82, of Merrillville, IN passed away on Saturday, January 21 ^st , 2012. She is survived by her sister Donna Janesko of Munster, IN; nieces and nephews; and caregiver Linda Marvel of Merrillville, IN.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Frank and Mary Yursi, husband John Balog; sons: Michael and Steven Balog; sisters: Julia, Theresa, Mary, Christine; and by her brothers: Steve and Frank.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday January 26, 2012 at 10:00am at St. Mary Catholic Church located at 525 N. Broad Street Griffith, IN. with Fr. Theodore Mens celebrating. Inurnment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens located in Schererville, IN.

Friends may meet with the family on Thursday January 26 ^th from 9:00am until the time of services at St. Mary Catholic Church.

Virginia was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Griffith, the altar and Rosary Society, and American Legion Post 66 in Griffith. She was also an Air Force Veteran in the Korean War.
