Thomas B. "Sarge" Hamer age 77 of St. John, Indiana passed away on Friday September 3, 2021. He is survived by his children Ted (Danijela) Hamer, Todd (Ami) Hamer, Steven Hamer, and Lisa Hamer; granddaughter Kiersten Clemens; son-in-law Dave Clemens; siblings Carol Jean (late Andrew) Becker, Marilyn (Joseph Workman) Kriss, and Penny (late Dan) Hills. Tom was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Madeline Hamer, wife Constance Demantes-Hamer, and by his sisters Margaret "Peggy" (late Warren) LeBeck, Sandra Hamer and Joyce (late Larry) Wysocki

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday September 8, 2021, at 7:00pm at White Funeral Home with Pastor James Williams officiating. Burial will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois. Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday September 8th from 3-7:00pm at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. Glen Park Ave. (45th Ave.) in Griffith.

Tom was an Army Veteran and was retired from Inland Steel. In his younger days he was the drummer in various local bands. He could always be found in his garage tinkering, repairing, or building things.
