Tara E. Kingston, 45, of Highland, Indiana, passed away Feb. 23, 2016. She is survived by her loving husband, Sean Kingston; adored son Evan; parents Carole and Doug Wilson, of Valparaiso; sister Tracey (John) Ratkay, of South Haven; brother Todd (Julie), also of South Haven; mother-in-law Gert Kingston, of Highland; brother-in-law Mike Kingston, of Griffith; sister-in-law Pam (Tom) Wade, of Schererville; brother-in-law Tom (Linda) Kingston, of Boone Grove; brother-in-law Don Kingston, of Hammond; sister-in-law Mary (John) Tomczak, of Hammond; many nieces and nephews, and countless friends, co-workers and River Forest students whose lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Gene Kingston, in 2005.

Visitation for Tara will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26 at White Funeral Home, 921 W. 45th Ave., Griffith; church visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at  South Haven Christian Church, 780 Juniper Rd., Valparaiso, with services following at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the family.

Tara graduated from Indiana University Northwest with a B.S in education but first spent several years with the Post-Tribune -- first in advertising, then in news -- before heeding her original calling. She began teaching for the River Forest School Corp. in 2010, where she taught English and Speech at the middle school and high school as well as served as the newspaper adviser and Junior Class Sponsor. She was deeply loved by her students and will forever be cherished by those who had the honor to know her.
