Stephen Michael Bieda, age 64, of Valparaiso, IN passed away surrounded by his family on August 15, 2026.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Debra Bieda; beloved daughter, Megan Rose Bieda; siblings: Susan Eliot, Frank (late Carol) Bieda, Anthony (Rebecca) Bieda, Mary Bieda, father-in-law, Bong Yohl Kim and many loving nephews, nieces, and cousins. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Frances Bieda, and mother-in-law, Josephine Kim.
Steve grew up playing baseball in Calumet City, Illinois where he was an all-star, left-handed pitcher all the way through Babe Ruth Baseball League. Later he enjoyed many fishing trips to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula with his buddies. Steve and Debby met through his job as a journeyman machinist, a profession he proudly worked at for 46 years, including at BP Refinery for the last 16 years. Steve proudly taught his daughter Megan how to fish and to use tools to build things. He was always incredibly proud of Megan and he loved listening to rock-n-roll music at night with her. Steve was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan, and he loved his family and his pets, especially Theo.
