RUTH E. HOPP GRIFFITH, IN Ruth E. Hopp, age 78 of Griffith, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2011. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Marvin; daughters: Leslee Roberts of Michigan City, IN and Laurie (Brad) Wolhart of Owatonna, MN; son, Leonard Hopp of Griffith; four grandchildren: Jason (Stacia) Roberts of Sandy OR, Joy (Adrian) Williams of LaPorte, IN, Brady (Sarah) Wolhart of Rochester, MN, and Beth Wolhart of Minneapolis, MN; five great grandchildren: Isabella and Rhys Roberts, Evan and Lainey Wolhart, and Maya Williams; sister, Shirley (Sam) Palazzolo of Beloit, Wisconsin. Special Mom to Lorrie Frisbie and Larry Bloomer both of Griffith. Special Grandma to Nicole, Sarah, and Christina Frisbie. Special Friend to Heide Shirley, Preston and Savannah, Kurt Kuhnke. Preceded in death by her parents: Clyde and Berniece Collins; son-in-law, Dennis; and step- father, William Wagner. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 324 N. Colfax in Griffith with Pastor Scott Hobbs officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville. Friends may meet with the family on Monday, May 2, 2011 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at White Funeral Home , 921 W. 45th Avenue, Griffith, IN. Ruth was the former Clerk Treasurer for the Town of Griffith, and very active with the Democratic Women's Club and Politics. She was also very active with her church, First Baptist of Griffith. Family was the utmost importance to her, loved spending time with her grandchildren. She had a very generous heart, and loved working crossword puzzles.
