RUSSELL L. MELTON, SR. GRIFFITH, IN Russell L. Melton Sr. age 86 of Griffith passed away Thursday, July 7, 2011. He is survived by is wife of 60 years, Mary; children: Russell (Bernice) Melton Jr., Randy (Kathy) Melton, and Karen (Tim) Owczarzak; grandchildren: Ryan, Janelle, and Olivia. Preceded in death by his parents: Louis and Elsie; and brothers: Harold and Charles. A memorial service will be held Monday July 11, 2011 at 12:00 noon at St. Mary Catholic Church, 525 N. Broad Street, Griffith; with Fr. Theodore Mens celebrating . Russell was a U.S. Army veteran. He was retired from LTV Steel after 40+ years.
