Rufino "Carzares" Atilano, Sr. age 86 of Gary, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2015.

He is survived by his children: Rufino (Norma) Atilano, Jr. of Gary, IN and Mina (Nate) Acevez of De Motte, IN, 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. And numerous stepbrothers and sisters in Mexico.

Preceded in death by his wife: Romona Atilano, parents: Rufino and Romona Atilano and daughter: Lupe Munoz.

Funeral Mass will be on Monday, April 6 ^th at 10:00am directly at St. Mary Catholic Church located at 812 W. 144 ^th Street, East Chicago, Indiana with Father Steve Gibson officiating.

Friends many meet with the family on Monday, April 6 ^th from 2-7:00 pm at White Funeral Home, located at 921 W. 45 ^th Avenue, Griffith, Indiana.

Cremation will follow.

Rufino was a member of Local 1010 and employed with Inland Steel for 20 years.
