Ruben Tejeda age 51 of Gary, formerly of East Chicago passed away on Friday February 7, 2014.

He is survived by his wife: Mary; children: Kristi, Kathy, and Kelly; mother: Maria Tejeda; sister; Irma (Hernan) Crespo; brothers: Alfonso (Maria) Tejeda Jr., Rick (Angela) Tejeda, and Gerry (Beth) Tejeda; nieces and nephews: Nicholas, Angelique, Margaret, Jennifer, Alfonso, Bianca, Noah, Ciera, Jessica, Salina, Erica, Joshua, and Gerry. He is also survived by many in-laws and nieces and nephews.

Ruben was preceded in death by his father Alfonso Tejeda Sr.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday February 11, 2014 at 7:00pm at White Funeral Home with Fr. Theodore Mens officiating. Cremation will follow the services. Friends may meet with the family on Tuesday February 11th from 2-7:00pm at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45th Ave. in Griffith.

Ruben was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Griffith. He was a former employee of Garza Dulceria and Ameristar Casino in East Chicago. Ruben graduated from Washington High School in East Chicago class of 1981. He was a diehard White Sox, Celtics, and Cowboys fan. He was also very supportive of "his kids" sports events and activities.
