RONALD P. SUTHERLIN "PHIL" LOWELL, IN Ronald P. Sutherlin passed away Monday, June 13, 2011 at St. Margaret Mercy in Dyer, IN. He was born May 4, 1936 in Gary, the son of Ronald and Clara (Watson) Sutherlin. Phil is survived by his daughters: Kathleen (Les) Fox of St. John, Christine Sutherlin of Valparaiso, Mary (Art) Stern of Cedar Lake and Tammie (Anthony) McCelos of La Porte; sister: Dr. Mary Borman of Mexico, MO; grandchildren: James Alaniz, Sarah Alaniz and Jason Stern; two lifelong friends: Ed and Irene Doughty; Special friends: Margaret Craft, Tina Bailey and David Craft. Several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends will miss his friendly manner. He was preceded in death by his parents; Ronald and Clara; sister, Dora May Sutherlin. Phil graduated from Dyer High School, Dyer, IN. He was an Army veteran and a long-haul semi-truck driver who loved the open road. As per his wishes, Phil donated his body for medical research. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at a later date with the inurnment of his cremains to follow the Mass. Complete arrangements will be made available at a later date. Phil was proud of his children and loved his family with his whole heart. He will be greatly missed.
