Ronald E. Dixon, Sr. age 87 of Griffith passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2015.

He is survived by his children: Paulette Ferguson and Ron Dixon, Jr.

4 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren

Second Wife: Dona Dixon

Sister: Dolores Hopp and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by his parents Glenn and Thelma Dixon, first wife Pauline, and by his brother Bruce

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 10:00 am at First Christian Church located at 202 W. Pine St. Griffith, IN with Pastor Shawn Cornett officiating.

Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Schererville.

Friends may meet with the family on Monday, August 10, 2015 from 2-8:00 pm at White Funeral Home, located at 921 W. 45 ^th Avenue, Griffith

Ron was the owner of Ron Dixon Insurance Company and he was a member of First Christian Church in Griffith.  Ron was a Navy Veteran and a diehard Chicago Cubs fan.

He enjoyed going fishing in Spooner, WI and Canada and spending time with his family.

Ron stayed very active in his community serving on different organizations and working for the Town of Griffith Building Dept.    In his younger years he worked alongside his father and brother at Dixon and Sons Construction.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
