Rockford O. Kottka Sr. "Rocky", age 90, of Michigan City, formerly of Osceola, AR, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2012.

He served in the US Air Force during World War II and was a retired Lab Technician from BP, formerly Amoco Oil Company, in Whiting, IN.

Preceded in death by his first wife, Helen, of 28 years in 1973, his second wife, LaVelle, of 29 years in 2004 and one daughter, Carol Kottka in 1980.

He is survived by one daughter, Linda Kimmel of Michigan City, three sons, Rockford (Kathleen) Kottka of Valparaiso, Ronald (Tina) Kottka of Griffith and Richard (Karen) Kottka of Whiting, seven grandchildren, Karl Eidam of Hammond, Kelley (Paul) Sauve of Las Vegas, NV, Kristin (Wally) Wroblewski of Michigan City, Kyle (Jennifer) Kottka of Fishers, IN, Kara (Paul) McMurtrey of Fishers, IN, Shawn and Shae Siokos of Griffith and nine great-grandchildren.

Rocky was very active in the Methodist Church of Osceola, AR having served as Lay Delegate to the Annual Conference for 22 years, President of the Methodist Mens' Club, and on all the committees of the church. He was also a member of the Rotary Club for over 50 years and received the Rotary Club's Paul Harris Fellowship Award in 2001.

Funeral Services will be on Friday February 10th, 2012 at 10:00am at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45th Avenue Griffith, IN. With Rev. Dr. Dennis Carroll officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery in Hammond, IN.

Friends may meet with the family on Thursday February 9 ^th . from 4:00pm-8:00pm at White Funeral Home.
