Robert K. Swafford Sr. "Bobby" age 29 of Hammond, IN passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2014.  He was born on July 26, 1985.

Bobby is survived by the love of his life, Cassie: son, Robert K. Swafford Jr: parents, Jim and Terry Swafford Jr; brother Jimmy (Chrissy) Swafford III; paternal grandmother, Marie Swafford; maternal grandparents, Robert and Lena Braswell; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his paternal Papa, James A. Swafford Sr.

Bobby was a very caring and loving son, dad, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and true friend to all who was blessed to have him in their lives.

Bobby always treated everyone as family.  If ever you needed help, he was always there to lend a helping hand.  He was an experienced carpenter and avid fisherman, who loved to fish in tournaments with his favorite Uncle Mike.

Bobby was diagnosed with and fought acute lymphoblastic leukemia and was advised the day before he was killed, his stem cell transplant was a success and he was in remission.

Bobby was cherished by his family and numerous friends and he will be deeply missed by all who knew his kindness, sincerity and love.

Friends may meet with the family on Friday, October 24, 2014 from 4-8pm at White Funeral Home , located at 921 W. 45 ^th Ave., Griffith.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 10am with Pastor Bill Kortokrax officiating. Burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond, IN.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the entire staff at The University of Chicago Medical Center.  We would like you all to know how grateful we are for the wonderful care and kindness you provided to Bobby and the entire family. You made it possible for us to love Bobby for an extra year.
