Robert D. Slemin Sr. age 91 of Gary, passed away on Friday December 11, 2015.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years: Martha; children Mary Lou (Ken) Furgye of Highland, Phyllis Starkay of Illinois, Herbie (Alice) Slemin of Lafayette, and Jack Slemin of Gary. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister Betty Dunlap of Lawrenceville, IL, daughter-in-law Barb Slemin and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Elizabeth Slemin, sister Fredea Wolfe, sons Dennis and Robert Jr, granddaughter Denise, and by his grandson Wayne.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday December 15, 2015 at 2:00pm at White Funeral Home with Pastor Wally Klaubo officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery in Schererville.

Friends may meet with the family on Tuesday December 15 ^th from 11am til the time of service at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45 ^th Ave. in Griffith.

Robert was a WWII Navy Veteran and he was retired from Lever Bros. after 34 years. He was a member of the Black Oak Church of Christ and Past Secretary of the F.O.E. # 2593. Robert also enjoyed wood working and working on Model cars.
