Robert H. "Tio Robert" Washington age 75 of Hammond, passed away on Wednesday November 5, 2014.

He is survived by his brother Donald (Cora) Washington; Aunts Nora Hill and Bertha Hill; close cousin Gail Harper; adopted family Ronald (Stella) Mata Sr.; adopted nieces and nephews Stephanie, Melina, Ronald Jr., and Robert Mata and also by Josephine Ramos. Good friends Josephine Mata and JoAnn Brazil. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Hettie Washington and by his sister Anita.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday November 11, 2014 at 10:00am at White Funeral Home with Mario Blanco officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond.

Friends may meet with the family on Monday November 10 ^th from 4-8:00pm at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45 ^th Ave. in Griffith.

Robert was a retired Medical Technologist and Clinical Pathologist at the following hospitals, Mercy, Methodist, McNeil, Jackson Park, Munster Med-Inn, and Damien Laboratories. He was also a substitute Teacher in Hammond, East Chicago, and Gary Schools. Robert loved sports, music, dancing, and writing. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family.
