RAYMOND S. "CHICO" CUEVAS HIGHLAND, IN Raymond S. "Chico" Cuevas, age 59 of Highland, passed away on Friday March 4, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Renee; children: James (Roberta) Griffiths, Daniel (Sylvia) Griffiths, Jason Helton and Raymond (Emily) Cuevas; grandchildren: Paige, Kyle, Simon, Shawn, Matthew, Nicholas, Taylor, Bryce, Caleb and Kray; mother, Dolores Cuevas; mother in law Regina Kopeck and sisters: Gerri (Pete) Gonzales and Monica (Bob) Sullivan. He is also survived by his numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond; daughter, Amy; and brother, Philip. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church with Fr. Keith Virus celebrating. Burial will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery in Schererville. Friends may meet with the family on Tuesday March 8, 2011 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the White Funeral Home , located at 921 W. 45th Ave. in Griffith. There will be an afternoon wake service at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. "Chico" was retired from Inland Steel.
