Rae Lynn Petrie-Haas, age 67, of Live Oak, FL, passed away on November 2, 2022, at her home. She grew up in South Holland, Illinois and moved to Live Oak, Florida.  Rae was born November 25, 1954, to the late Paul and Jacquelyne Petrie. Also preceding her in death was her son, Brandon.  Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Kimberly Haas (Brian) Olson, Vero Beach, FL; sister, Dawn Petrie, Schererville, IN; brother, Paul (Emily) Petrie, Schererville, IN; and nephews, Preston and Zachary Petrie. Rae graduated from Thrornridge High School in Dolton, Illinois where she excelled in drama/theater and choir.

The love of Borzois and horses framed most of Rae's adult life. She bred and showed, successfully, some of the most beautiful.  She gave shelter to many homeless dogs and cats, evidence of her loving soul. She took great pride in cooking and entertaining; her recipes will live on with her family.  Rae was instrumental in converting Sandburg Village apartments into condominiums in Chicago.  She also spent many years working in the banking industry as well as mass media outlets.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023, with visitation from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at White Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 921 West Glen Park (45th) Avenue, Griffith, Indiana, 46319 followed immediately by a memorial service.
