Nicholas Louis Rastovski age 89 of Sarasota, FL., formerly of Griffith, passed away on Saturday October 10, 2015 He is survived by his children Donna (Jerry) Mercer of Hobart, Richard Rastovski of LaPorte, Diane (Larry) Cleveland of Chesterton, Robert (Laurie) Rastovski of Sarasota; sister Catherine; nine Grandchildren and nine Great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Agnes Rastovski, wife Ann (nee Juratic) Rastovski , son Nicholas Rastovski; brothers Joseph, Peter, George, John, and Michael Rastovski and by his sisters Agnes and Mary. Memorial services will be held on Friday October 23, 2015 at 10:00am at St. Mary Catholic Church located at 525 N. Broad St. in Griffith with Fr. Theodore Mens celebrating. Inurnment will be private at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville. Nick was retired from Inland Steel and he was a WWII Navy veteran. He was born in Schererville, Indiana on May 3, 1926 and lived in Griffith his entire life. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Nick also enjoyed the Chicago Cubs, coaching Griffith Little League, and spending time in his garden.
