Nancy Ann Stout

Nancy Ann Stout, 72 of Griffith, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Mike Stout Sr.; her children, Mike (Katie) Stout Jr., Angela (Joseph) Warrick, and Adam (Susannah) Stout; grandchildren, Zachary, Mariah, Corbin, Calvin, Christopher, Landri, Andrew, Emrielle, and Cooper; her father, Richard R. Fortner Sr.; brothers, Richard "Butch" (Gail) Fortner Jr. and Mike (Marcy) Fortner; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Jimmie Fortner; sister, Judy Young; and niece, Telisha Nellet.

Nancy graduated from Griffith High School, Class of 1973. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, president of the Griffith Historical Society, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution Timothy Ball Chapter, and a former Griffith Police Commissioner. Nancy also served as the Griffith High School Cheer Director and attendance secretary for Griffith Public Schools at the junior and senior high school levels, as well as at the Griffith branch of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. She also worked for ATA Airlines.

Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at White Funeral Home, 921 W. Glen Park Ave., Griffith, IN.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 525 N. Broad Street, Griffith, with Fr. Keith Virus officiating.
