Miguel Escobedo Sr. Age 88, of Griffith, passed away on Monday May 30, 2016.

He is survived by his children: Jose' (Lydia) Escobedo, David Escobedo, Maria (Jesus) Cisneros, Miguel (Rosita) Escobedo III, Amparo (Patrick Esposito) Bedoy, Ricardo (Grace) Escobedo, Josephina (Rene Sr.) Hernandez and Antonia (Steve Crause) Escobedo; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and one great great great grandson who is on the way. He is also survived by his brothers  Savino and Norberto Escobedo.

He was preceded in death by his parents Anselmo and Herminia Escobedo, wife Apolonia, sons Esquiel and Miguel Jr., brothers Pablo and Fidel and by his sister Zarapia.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 4, 2016 at 10:00am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Griffith with Fr. Theodore Mens celebrating.

Burial to follow at Blake Cemetery in Portage, Indiana

Friends may meet with the family on Friday June 3rd from 2:00pm-8:00pm, with a wake service at 7:30pm at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45th Avenue Griffith.

Miguel was retired from U.S. Steel and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He was a former wrestling champion in Mexico, and he loved composing music and playing his guitar. He also looked forward to having dinner with his family every Thursday.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Mary Catholic Church in Griffith.
