Mary M. King age 72 of Griffith, formerly of Sauk Village, IL, passed away on Sunday May 1, 2016.

She is survived by her daughter Michelle (Edward) McCarthy; grandchildren Ashley McCarthy, Beth McCarthy, Alexis McCarthy, Edward (Bee) McCarthy, and Justin McCarthy; sisters Cathy "Cooky" (Ron) Tisch and Suzanne Barnes; special niece Sharon (Tom) Murchek and other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Peter and Helen Fritz.

Friends may meet with the family on Thursday May 5, 2016 from 4-8:00pm at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45 ^th Ave. in Griffith.

Mary lived her life as a strong, independent, and selfless person who always put the needs of others before her own. She was a Physical Therapist who was retired from Community Hospital and was passionate about the care she took when caring for others. Mary was a former School Board member of District #168 in Sauk Village who always was looking out for the best interests of the students. She was an avid reader (Nora Robert books) and she graduated from Griffith High School class of 1962.
