Marvin L. Hopp, age 79, of Griffith, passed away on Monday July 18, 2011.  He is survived by his daughters: Leslee Roberts of Michigan City, IN and Laurie (Brad) Wolhart of Owatonna, MN: son: Leonard Hopp of Griffith; grandchildren: Jason (Stacia) Roberts, Joy (Adrian) Williams, Brady (Sarah) Wolhart, and Beth Wolhart; great grandchildren: Isabella, Maya, Evan, Rhys, and Lainey; sister: Elizabeth Sissung of OR; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by his parents: Charles and Wilma Hopp; wife Ruth; son-in-law, Dennis; brother, Charles; and by his sisters: Helen and Frances.

Funeral services will be held on Friday July 22, 2011 at 10:00am at the First Baptist Church of Griffith with Pastor Scott Hobbs officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville. A visitation at church will be from 9:00am until the time of services.  Friends may meet with the family on Thursday July 21 ^st from 4-7:00pm at the White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45 ^th Ave. in Griffith.

Marvin was a member of the First Baptist Church in Griffith. He was retired from Pipefitter's Local # 597 and he was a member of the Griffith Masonic Lodge # 735.  Marvin was a Korean Army veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart and other Medals.  For information, please call White Funeral Home at (219) 924-4100.
