Martha L. Slemin age 90 of Gary passed away on Friday December 9, 2016.

She is survived by her children Mary Lou (Ken) Furgye of Highland, Phyllis Starkay of Illinois, Herbie (Alice) Slemin of Lafayette and Jack Slemin of Gary; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Johnny (Dolly) Merrill of TN, daughter-in-law Barb Slemin, and by her numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Morvel and Ada Merrill, husband Robert, sons Dennis and Robert Jr., granddaughter Denise, grandson Wayne, and by her siblings Olin, Helen, Elsie, Eva, Dora and Margaret.

Funeral services will be held on Monday December 12th at 2:00pm at White Funeral Home with Pastor Wally Klaubo officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery in Schererville. Friends may meet with the family on Monday December 12th from 12:00pm-2:00pm at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45th Avenue in Griffith.

Martha was a member of Black Oak Church of Christ and F.O.E. #2593 Women's Auxiliary. She loved to play Bunco, spend time with her family, and she cherished the trip her and Robert took to the Niagara Falls in 1975.
