Marjorie Joan Waters age 83 of Highland passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2014.

She is survived by her daughter: Valerie Waters, Granddaughters: Becky (Robert) Sutherland, Julie (Shane Hurt) Fulkerson, and Heather Garcia;Great grandchildren: Mikayla, Gavin, Seth, Alaina, Paige, Aiden and Arabella and by her close family friend: Mark Wheeler.

She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Marjorie Retz, husband John "Jack", brothers Charles and Ron, daughter Jacqueline "Jackie" Drankus and by her grandson Tony.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 17, 2014 at 10:00am at First United Methodist Church in Griffith located at 400 W. 44 ^th Place in Griffith, with Rev. Alex Stone officiating.

Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, Indiana

Friends may meet with the family on Thursday, October 16 ^th from 4:00pm-8:00pm at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45 ^th Avenue Griffith, Indiana

Marjorie was a member of the United Methodist Church in Griffith, where she was past President, Treasurer, and District Treasurer of the United Methodist Women's Club. She was also a member of the choir, Hand bells, and she was a co-founder of the food pantry. Marjorie was retired from Sears. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and helping others.
