MARJORIE D. MORRIS HAMMOND, IN Marjorie D. Morris, age 95 of Hammond, passed away on Saturday August 27, 2011. She is survived by her children: Faye (Henry) Fisher of Hammond, Jerry (Donna) Morris of Hessville, and Gala Metcalf of New York; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents: Jessie and Iva Baird; husband, David W.; step sisters and step brothers; son Don; and by her grandson, Scott. Funeral services will be held on Thursday September 1, 2011 at 10:00am at the Family Christian Center located at 340 45th Ave. in Munster with Pastor Steve K. Munsey and Rev. Jim Utley officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday August 31, 2011 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45th Ave. in Griffith Marjorie was one of the oldest charter members and member of Family Christian Center. She was a choir member, Sunday school teacher, and she was active with missions. She was also the original director of housekeeping at Community Hospital.
