Manfredo E. Garza age 82 of Griffith, passed away on Monday April 28, 2014.

He is survived by his children: Yolanda (David) Martinez, Grace (Craig Bell) Mercks, and SanJuanita Garza; 9 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, 4 sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jose' and Adela Garza, wife Manuela, sons George, Manfredo Jr., and Manuel, son-in-law David Mercks, 3 brothers, and by his 1 sister.

Funeral services will be held on Friday May 2, 2014 at 10:00am Directly at St. Mary Catholic Church in Griffith with Fr. Theodore Mens celebrating. Burial will follow at 1:00pm at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Evergreen Park, IL.

Friends may meet with the family on Thursday May 1 ^st from 3-8:00pm at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45 ^th Ave. in Griffith.

Manfredo was a Korean War veteran and retired from Sherwin Williams. He was a member of the Griffith Masonic Lodge #735 who will hold Masonic services on Thursday evening at 7:00pm and the Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend. Manfredo was a devote Christian who was a kind and generous fatherly figure to multiple generations.
