Luis de la Vega, age 86, of Griffith, IN, entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on Thursday, February 22, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lupe (Dominguez) and his seven children; Theresa (Jeff) Cicillian, Louis (Karen) de la Vega, Rose (Jeff) Mills, Mary (Brian) Soy, Christine (Stuart) Nightingale, Jennifer (Jason) Denton, and Mark (Dana) de la Vega. Grandchildren; Matthew (Ashley) Abbott, Jessica (Kyle) Mair, Ashley O Ashley and Jordan Cicillian, Luis de la Vega Jr., Christopher (Courtney) de la Vega, Christian de la Vega, Joshua Sessions, Brandon Soy, Merritt and Sydney Denton and four great-grandchildren. His brother Joe (late Gerrie) Guillen, sisters-in-law Margie (late Jim) Dominguez, Julie (late Raul) Dominguez, Mary (George) Alonge, brother-in-law Bob Dominguez, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Jose and Maria Guillen, in-laws Eulalia and Antonio Dominguez, 2 sisters Emilia Mireles and Grace Hernandez and 2 brothers-in-law Jose Luis Mireles and Antonio Dominguez.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, Griffith, IN with Fr. Theodore J. Mens officiating.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 26, 2018 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm at White Funeral Home, 921 W. 45th Avenue in Griffith, IN.
