Lois M. Josway, age 82, of Hammond, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. She is survived by her daughters: Nancy (Larry) Owens, Lori McBride, and Melinda (Timothy Foley) McBride-Plawecki; grandchildren: Eric (Cara) McBride, Matthew (Rachel Major) Plawecki, and Mark Plawecki; great grandchildren: Jade, Peyton and Arianna; former son-in-law Ronald Plawecki; and special friends: the Aube Family

She was preceded in death by her parents Frederick and Louise Overmeyer and her husband Thomas Josway Sr.

Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at 10:00 AM at ST. JOHN BOSCO CATHOLIC CHURCH, located at 7113 Columbia Ave. Hammond, Indiana 46324 with Father Jeff Burton celebrating. Private family burial will follow. Friends may meet with the family on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at St. John Bosco Catholic Church from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM when service begins.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John Bosco Church. Lois, a lifetime resident of this area graduating from Hammond Tech High School class of 1960. She was a member of St. John Bosco Church, and was formerly employed at Xerox Corporation in Calumet City, IL, and Mercantile National Bank in Hammond, IN.

She cherished family time and enjoyed bowling, writing, and drawing in her earlier years. Lois worked on crossword puzzles almost daily. She had many pets over the years, which brought her immense joy, and she also enjoyed running a doggy daycare for her grandpups.
