Lillie Mae Nye (nee Leonard)  "Meema",  age 88 of Griffith IN passed through the

gates of Heaven on August 9, 2016.

She was born on July 22, 1928 in Brinkley AR, the loving daughter of the

late James Thomas Leonard and Virgie Icevene Pyron Leonard. She was

also preceded in death by her son, Samuel Archie Nye Jr, a great grandson

Nathanael James Edward Green, a brother David Lee Leonard, and sisters

Sybil Icevine Leonard, Lois Virginia Leonard Dybas and Sarah Elizabeth

Leonard English.

Mrs. Nye is survived by her husband of 70 years Samuel Archie Nye Sr. of Griffith IN,

daughter Valinda (Jim)     Green of Griffith IN, and son Michael (Kathy)

Nye of Cincinnati OH. She is also survived by grandchildren Stephen Green

of Schneider IN, David Green of Griffith IN, Jill Green Ramirez of Griffith

IN, Jared Green of St. John IN, Brianne Nye Ross of Cincinnati OH, Jacob

Nye of Erlanger KY, Caleb Nye of Shallotte NC, twelve great grandchildren

and one brother James Samuel Leonard of Harrison AR.

Funeral services will be held on Friday August 12, 2016 at 7:00 pm at White Funeral Home

located at 921 W. 45th Avenue Griffith with Stephen Green officiating.

Friends may meet with the family on Friday August 12,2016 from 2-7: 00 pm at White Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Mrs. Nye to the

National Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
