Kathy Ann Troksa

Kathy Ann Troksa, age 76, of Griffith, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply. She was the best wife, mother, and Mimi anyone could ever ask for.

She is survived by her husband, George, of 50 years, who devotedly cared for her every day these past couple of years. The two first met in high school, where George, fresh out of college, was her teacher, and their bond only grew from there into a marriage that lasted a lifetime, something not many are lucky enough to find. She is also survived by her children, Jill (Jeff) Steen, Christopher (Erica) Troksa, and Megan (Kevin) Heslin; her grandchildren, Aiden, Bryce, Quinn, Dawson, Peyton, and Harper, who were her "sunshine" and brought her endless joy; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Helen Quigg, and her brother, Ronald Quigg.

Kathy graduated from Highland High School, Class of 1967. A lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church, she was active in the Rosary Society and the Funeral Luncheon Committee, quietly serving others in ways big and small. She found her greatest happiness surrounded by her grandchildren, in the kitchen baking something for someone she loved, and in simply making sure everyone around her felt cared for. Putting others first was simply who Kathy was, especially her family, who never came second in her eyes. She showed her love the way she knew best: through her kitchen. Kathy spoiled everyone around her with her delicious treats and home-cooked meals, made with the kind of care that only came from Kathy. She always said her food tasted better because it was made with love, and anyone who tasted it would have to agree. No goodbye or "I love you" ever ended without her signature reply, "love you more," and everyone who knew her heard it more times than they could count. She never had an unkind word for anyone, a kindness that touched everyone who knew her, and one she will be remembered for always.

Friends may meet with the family on Monday, September 21, 2026, from 4:00–8:00 p.m. at White Funeral Home in Griffith, IN (921 W. Glen Park Ave., Griffith, IN 46319), and on Tuesday morning from 9:15 a.m. until the time of mass at St. Mary Catholic Church.

Funeral mass will be held Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 525 N. Broad St., Griffith, IN 46319, with Fr. Theodore Mens celebrating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Mary School or the St. Mary Rosary Society.
