Katherine Ann Kitzmiller, age 84 of Griffith, was called by the Angels on Thursday July16th 2026.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents William & Carmelita Reiss, brother Edward (Betty) Reiss, Brother John Reiss, very special niece Mary Ann Mullins, very special nephew Jason Mesman, best friend Barb Nelson, and 2 special emotional support animals Buddy (cat) Dozer (Yorkie).

Kathy is survived by her sister Elizabeth (John) Paul, Christine Bailey (Vic Cox), Mable Reiss (sister-in-law), son Michael Kitzmiller, son Thomas Kitzmiller (Sonja Anderson), daughter Carla Kitzmiller (John Porter) grandson Matthew Kitzmiller (Soleen Nguyen) granddaughter Ashley Kitzmiller, (their mother Lynn Kitzmiller) grandkitty "Littleman", a special nurse Maggie Mathis, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Kathy was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church over 60 years and a member of the Ladies F.O.E. for 38 years.

Kathy, mom, gram, auntie and Smily, is a loving, amazing, strong, beautiful woman that lights up the room with her smile. She always leaves a "Long lasting loving impression" whenever and wherever she went. Her favorite saying was "You can't control the uncontrollable" everything will be okay.

Mom's favorite things were painting her nails to match what she was wearing, loved her "Minions" and "Baby Yoda" as they were silly and cute just like her, she would always say. She loved watching Lasie, I Love Lucy, Carol Burnett and the Nanny. And her favorite moments were when she would have a surprise visit or the visit of knowing someone was there.

Mom loved her butterflies and horses as she would say they are symbols of being graceful and free as she was. And the symbol of the beautiful butterfly was a loved one was watching over you.

A Celebration of Life for Katherine "Kathy" will be held at: White Funeral Home 921 W. Glen Park Ave. Griffith, IN 46319 on August 8,2026 from 3:00-5:00 pm. Come join us to celebrate her wonderful life.
