Kate Piznarski age 90 of Highland, passed away from cancer on Monday, March 16, 2015 with her daughter Cindy by her side.

She is survived by her children: Cindy Piznarski who lived with her and took care of her, Julia Koliboski of Hammond, and Leon (Jan) Piznarski of Florida.

Grandchildren: Renee (Mike)Plesha of Florida and Robert O'Dell of Hammond.

Brother: Louis Nemeth.

Kate was preceded in death by her husband of 62years; Leo, granddaughter Tonya O'Dell, brother; Steve, and by her sisters; Julia, Ann and Mary.

Graveside services will be private at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Father Keith Virus officiating.

Kate was a member of St. James Catholic Church.

Kate's mother passed away at 22 years of age and Kate was raised by her sister Julia until she was two years old. Then she went to the Carmelite Home in East Chicago.

Kate was a loving mother who taught her daughters Hungarian and Polish cooking, fishing, playing cards and bingo.

She also loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Kate worked many jobs throughout her lifetime, the last two being E.B. Lammand in East Chicago and she retired from Community Hospital in Munster.
