Karen R. Haynes, "The Taco Lady", age 70, of Griffith passed away Tuesday September 17, 2013. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Henry "Hank"; and daughter, Tammy Haynes of Valparaiso. Preceded in death by parents: Robert and Marie Hastings. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 20, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at White Funeral Home , located at 921 W. 45th Ave., Griffith with Rev. James Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery in Schererville, IN. Friends may meet with the family on Thursday, September 19, 2013 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at White Funeral Home. Karen was a very active member of both the VFW Ladies Auxiliary 9982 and the American Legion Post 66 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed running the Casino Bus Trips and running the Sunday Bingo at the Legion. Karen was a caring and generous person that always gave to others.
