JUDITH ANN BRUNO (NEE BABUSIAK) GRIFFITH, IN Judith Ann Bruno (nee Babusiak), age 69, of Griffith, went home to be with her Lord, surrounded by her family on Monday March 14, 2011. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Tony Bruno. She was the loving mother of Tony Bruno Jr. and Natalie (Karl) Foss; as well as the devoted grandmother to Jordan Bruno and Blair Bruno. "Judy" was also the dear sister to Susie Simmons. Judy loved her entire extended family including brother and sisters-in-law: Bill and Yolanda Martin, Eli and Margaret Zak, Antoinette LaBarge, Ann Pazik, Jim and Nancy Bruno, and Betty Bruno and Cedrick Harreld; as well as beloved godchild, Kelly Ellridge; and former daughter-in-law, Stacy Karney whom she loved dearly. Judy's loved ones also include cousins: Wally (Jenny) Wrobel, Mike (Kathy) Wrobel, Debbie Wrobel and Sandy (Steve) Arvin. Countless nieces, nephews, and friends make up Judy's group of loved ones, too many to include in a single list. Judy loves you all dearly and gives great thanks to all who spent time with her, gave her strength, and helped brighten her day. Judy also has special thanks for her caregiver Maria who continues to help the family through very difficult times. She joins in heaven her mother, Julia Simmons (nee Dudzik); father Steve Babusiak; and her beloved cousin, Irene Radulovich (nee Sharik). Judy also joins other beloved in-laws, including, but not limited to: Albert Bruno, Dominic and Dolores Bruno, Mike and Francis Chovostal, Max Pazik, Roy Labarge; as well as the forbearers of the entire Bruno family: Anthony and Margaret Bruno. Judy was born on August 20, 1941 and was a graduate of East Chicago Washington High School, Class of 1959, where she was a cheerleader and in the fall of 1958 was voted homecoming queen. She cherishes the lifelong friendships she made there, many of which continue to this day. Judy's smile was brightest when she was in the company of her grandchildren. They were her heart and soul. The joy Jordan and Blair brought her was unequalled by anything else in life. Aside from her grandchildren, Judy's others passions included the casinos each and every Friday, her family vacations to Ludington, MI, her trips to Las Vegas, Wheel of Fortune, The Price is Right, watching sports on her timeless 14 inch television, and her weekly scrabble contests with dear friend and sister-in-law, Betty Bruno with whom she was inseparable. Judy retired from Strack and Van Til's after 27 years of service and was a longtime member of St. Mary's church in Griffith where she developed a special friend in Father Mens. Judy's strength and courage was staggering and made her a hero to all who knew her. Funeral services will be held at White Funeral Home in Griffith, at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 18, 2011 and will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Griffith with Fr. Theodore Mens celebrating. Friends may meet with the family on Thursday, March 17, 2011 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45th Avenue, Griffith, IN.
