Joseph W. Golembenski, age 87 of Griffith, passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2012. He is survived by his daughters: Shirley Wartsbaugh of Hammond and Sharon (Michael) Trinks of Hammond; grandsons: Joey Trinks, Tony Wozniak, Kenneth Madura and Matthew Madura; and stepdaughter, Leona (Ken) Madura of Branson, MO. Preceded in death by his parents: Joseph Sr. and Bell; and by his wife, Leona; stepdaughter, Linda; and grand daughter, Kimberly. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45th Avenue, Griffith with Rev. Shawn Cornett officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond. Friends may meet with the family on Tuesday June 19th from 5:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. at White Funeral Home . Joseph was a WWII Navy Veteran, serving on the destroyers USS Chatelain and the USS Wallace L Lind. He was retired from the Western Southern Railroad and Vulcan Material Co.
