John Santana age 69 of Highland passed away on Monday September 7th, 2020.

He is survived by his children Lisa (Carlos Rodriguez) Rivera, Jennifer Santana, John P. Santana, Shelly (Andrew) Callegari, grandchildren; Aidan Rivera, Caleb Callegari, Abigail Rivera, Jacob Callegari, Nathaniel Santana, loving companion Maria Santana, siblings; Raymond (Carmela) Santana, Frances (Jim) DeRolf, Guadalupe (Grace) Santana, Minerva (Ruben) Yan, Angela (Sonny) Flores, Alice Jimenez, Ignacio Santana Jr., Mary (Paco) Fernandez, Margaret (Manuel) Alvarado, Elias Santana, Erlinda (Arturo) Saucedo, Gloria Santana, Robert (Mildred) Santana, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

John was preceded in death by his parents Ignacio and Margarita Santana, sister Trinidad Santana, brother Phillip Santana, sister-in-law Pamela Santana and nieces Diana, Florinda, Olivia, Carrie, Renee, Angelina, and Sylvia.

Friends may meet with the family on Friday September 11th, 2020 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at WHITE FUNERAL HOME located at 921 W. Glen Park Ave. (45th Ave.) Griffith. Prayers at 1:00 PM with Fr. Greg Bin-Merle. Burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond.

John retired as Safety Advocate with BP where he also served as a firefighter. John graduated from Washington High School, Class of 1969, in East Chicago. John was an avid music lover, specially the "Oldies" and anything by Santana. John was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. John enjoyed spending time with his family. He was his grandkids number one fan, never missing any of their special moments.
