John C. Lahey "King Herod" age 75 of Schererville, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2017.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carole (neeBerland) Lahey; children: Michael John Lahey,

Susan Marie Lahey and Brian Patrick Lahey; grandchildren:  Dre, Renee' and Natalie Lahey,

brother, Robert C, (Marian) Lahey, sister, Marianne White; sisters-in-law: Cathy (Tom) Haupt,

Christina Jane Berland, nephews: Tom and David White, Jeff Lahey,

Jeffrey and Joel Haupt, niece, Sarah Lahey and many other close family and friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John T. Lahey and, Margaret Lahey and nephew, Jim White.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.at White Funeral Home

located at 921 W. 45th Avenue in Griffith  with Pastor Jeff Taylor officiating.

Burial will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.

Friends may meet with the family on Monday, April 10, 2017 from 3:00 - 8:00 p,m. at

White Funeral Home.

John was the owner of Lahey Pipe and Supply Company in East Chicago, and also worked in Sales

at Independent Pipe and Supply East Chicago. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a former member of the Lions Club.

John enjoyed bowling, fixing clocks and "tinkering" in his garage.  His family was his life.
