John W. Carr age 87 of Lowell passed away on Monday, July 28, 2014.

He is survived by his children: Deborah Walters of Crown Point, Beverly Sue (Dennis) White of Merrillville, and Robert (Verna) Carr of Lowell

Grandchildren: Angie (Jon) Jones, Charles (Cheryl) McBain, Kristen (Adam) Patten, Michael White and Joseph White.

Great grandchildren: Gavin and Logan Patten, Alexander Jones, Maxon McBain.

Preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Anna Carr, wife Anna, and his son-in-law Roger Walters.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 1, 2014 at 10:00am at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45 ^th Avenue Griffith

With Rev. James Williams officiating

Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville

Friends may meet with the family on Thursday, July 31 ^st from 2:00pm-8:00pm at White Funeral Home

John was retired from Inland Steel after 41 ½ years, he was a WWII Army Veteran and a member of the Cedar Lake American Legion Post 261.

John also enjoyed fishing, the family cook-outs, and tinkering in "his garage".

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the St. Anthony Hospice in Crown Point.
