Joann M. Kocsvar-Watkins, age 72, of Merrillville, passed away on January 30, 2024. She is survived by her husband of 28 years Jose; her stepchildren Alexandrea Rachel (Al Celestin) and Elizabeth (Joseph) DeCenzo; grandchildren Joseph Henry DeCenzo and Alexander Michael DeCenzo. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Sophie.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at 12:00 PM at White Funeral Home, located at 921 W. Glen Park (45th) Ave. Grifith, Indiana 46319. Burial will follow at Memory Lane Memorial Gardens in Schererville, Indiana. Friends may meet with the family on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM when the service begins at White Funeral Home.

Joann was a retired Medical Transcriptionist. She loved rummage sales, county fairs, spending time with her husband at her lake house, shopping for her grandkids and always wanted to be generous with her family. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church where she was active in their Food and Clothing Pantry.
