Jeffrey W. Plantinga age 59 of Cedar Lake, passed away on Monday June 26, 2017.

He is survived by his children: Kristen (William) Owensby and Michael (Corinne) Plantinga; grandchildren Jayden, Ashlynn, Mecca, Abby, Jordan, and Jenna;  parents  Warren and Edie Plantinga; siblings Twin brother Jerry (Becky) Plantinga, Gary Plantinga, Nancy Plantinga, Bev (Frank) Swanson, Laurie (Mel) Fischer and Jennifer (Tom) Carli. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and by his four legged sidekick Memphis.

Jeffrey was preceded in death by and now reunited with the love of his life, his wife Diane.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday July 1, 2017 at 10:00 am at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45th Avenue in Griffith.

Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville, IN.

Friends may meet with the family on Friday June 30, 2017 from 4-8:00 pm at White Funeral Home.

Jeff retired from Ryerson Steel after 28 years.  He was a beloved neighbor, always having a cold beer ready for his friends, a juice box or popsicles for his little neighbors.  Jeff was known as the "king of the throttle" and his love for boating and laughs will live on in his children and grandchildren.
