Janet I. Redar age 71 of Griffith passed away on Thursday December 7, 2017. She is survived by her husband of 50 years Dan; daughter Sara (Jack) Guinn; grandson LeLand; siblings Steve (Christine)Vestal and Joyce (Joe) Dunfee  and by her many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents John and Juanita Vestal.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday Dec. 12, 2017 at 10:00 am at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45th Ave. Griffith, with Pastor Tim Powers officiating. Burial to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville.

Friends may meet with the family on Monday Dec. 11th from 3:00 pm-8:00 pm at White Funeral Home.

Janet was a retired teacher from Griffith Public Schools with 35 years of service. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Griffith and United Methodist Women's Circle, and the Quilters Guild.

She loved fishing in Cabo San Lucas, reading, and working crossword puzzles. Janet graduated from Griffith High School Class of 64. She was an Indiana University Alumni and a Huge fan. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to VNA Hospice in Valparaiso.
