James M. Turoci age 76 of Highland, passed away on Thursday April 28, 2016.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Betty; children Jeff (Paula) Turoci, Judy (David) Geary, and David Turoci; grandchildren Jay (Alicia) Turoci, Katie (Tyler) Buffington, Luke and Nolan Turoci, and James Geary; brother George (Dell) Turoci Jr; nephew Steven (Susie) Turoci; niece Suzanne (Randy) Rose; aunt Rose Pilipowski; cousins Rosemarie Pilipowski and Vicki Englestat.  Jim was preceded in death by his parents George and Katherine Turoci Sr.

Memorial services will be held on Sunday May 1, 2016 at 12 Noon at Faith United Church of Christ located at 3030 175 ^th St. in Hammond with Pastor Sky Allen officiating.

Friends may meet with the family on Saturday April 30, 2016 from 3:00-7:00pm at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45 ^th Ave. in Griffith.

Jim was retired from the Highland Police Dept. after 23 years, and was a member of the Highland Police Commission. He and his wife Betty were the owners of Baxter Printing in Highland. Jim was a member of Faith United Church of Christ in Hammond where he was Senior Elder and a member of the choir. Jim was an avid reader and he was also a member of the American Legion Post 66 in Griffith.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Faith United Church of Christ in Hammond.
