James B. Queen, age 80, of Florida (formerly of Griffith, Indiana) passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023. He is survived by Sharon Jandura and her family; sons Scott (Karen) Queen, and Todd (Jamee) Queen; grandchildren: Evan, Madelynn, and Lauren; sister Dorothy Queen; along with many nieces, nephews, and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Edmund and Clara Queen and by his wife Roni.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at 10:00 AM at White Funeral Home, located at 921 W. Glen Park (45th) Ave. Giffith, Indiana 46319 with Father Theodore Mens officiating. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, Indiana. Friends may meet with the family on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at White Funeral Home.

Jim graduated from Horace Mann High School Class of 1961. After graduating, he joined the Army, and upon returning home, he met his late wife Roni, with whom he resided in Griffith, Indiana. Jim was very active in the Griffith Little League, where he served on the Board and coached for many years. He also retired from Wonder Bread after 40 years.

After the passing of his wife Roni, Jim went on a blind date where he met Sharon Jandura. They began an amazing life together 17 years ago living in Florida, where they shared many wonderful travels and created many incredible memories. They enjoyed life in The Villages playing golf, watching movies and dining with friends.

He will be greatly missed by many.
