James O. "Jim" Barker, age 84, of Munster, IN passed away Monday, January 23rd, 2012. He is survived by his wife 61 years Gladys Barker; Children: James L. Barker of Hammond, IN, Joyce (Rad) Finch of Marion, IA, Jerry A. Barker of Robinson, IL, John E. (Lori) Barker of Dyer, IN, and Jeff Barker of Bloomington, IN; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren; brothers: William Barker; and Chuck (Ruth) Barker; and by his sisters: Clara Catlow; Ilene (Ben) Claudill; and Sarah Fines.

James was preceded in death by his parents Homer and Emma Barker; and by his sister Mary Leach.

Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday January 25, 2012 at 11:00am at the Thorn Creek Reformed Church, with Rev. Thomas Archer and Rev. Sid Mauldin officiating. Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday, January 25 ^th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Thorn Creek Reformed Church located at 1875 E. 170 ^th street in South Holland, IL.

James was an Army Air Force Veteran, and he retired from LTV Steel after 37 years. He was a member of Thorn Creek Reformed Church of South Holland, and enjoyed building model airplanes.
