James J. Harkins age 66 of Phoenix, Arizona formerly of Griffith

passed away on Friday, January 25, 2013

He is survived by his wife of 27 ½ years: Barbara Harkins

Children: Jamee (Todd) Queen of Griffith

Robin (Brian) Mahoney of Nashville, TN

Grandchildren: Evan, Madelynn and Lauren

Brother: Thomas Wilson of Simpson, IL

Sisters: Ina (Craig) Johnson of Yorkville,IL

Carol (Bill) McCormick of McMinnville, TN

Sisters-in-law: Bonnie Hirsch

Debbie (Jeffry) Gross

Brother-in-law: Kevin (Brian Towne) Hirsch

Many nieces, nephews and cousins

Preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Marie Harkins and son James Scott.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 10:00am at

St. Mary Catholic Church located at 525 S. Broad Street, Griffith

With Fr. Theodore Mens celebrating

Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, Indiana

Friends may meet with the family on Friday, February 1, from 3:00pm-8:00pm

at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45 ^th Avenue Griffith

James was retired from Prax Linde Air after 35 years and was a Army Veteran.

He graduated from Thornton North High School, Class of 1965.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Hospice of the Valley, located at 2525 E Southern Ave  Tempe, AZ 85282.
