Jimmy's Obituary James A. Swafford, III "Jimmy", age 41 of Hammond, IN passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2019. He was born on June 27, 1978. Jimmy is survived by his loving wife Christina Swafford; daughters, Brittany and Misty Swafford; sons, Ian Swafford, Travis Koonce and Trevor Urbanowicz; nephew Robert Swafford, Jr.; parents, James and Theresa Swafford Jr; sister, Cassie Gumienny; maternal grandparents, Robert and Lena Braswell; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James A. and Marie Swafford Sr. and brother Robert K. Swafford, Sr. Jimmy was a very caring and loving husband, son, dad, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend to all who was blessed to have him in their life. Jimmy used his passion and skill of working on cars as his way to help and be a service to others. If ever you needed help, he was always lending a hand. Jimmy was an experienced, certified and licensed diesel mechanic, who enjoyed camping, time with his family and listening to music. Jimmy was also excited and awaiting the arrival of his first granddaughter Cirilla Louise Urnik. Jimmy passed away peacefully in Dothan, Alabama holding his wife's hand and surrounded by loved ones. Jimmy was cherished by his family and friends and he will be deeply missed by all who knew his kindness, compassion and love. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday, January 5, 2020 from 4-8pm at White Funeral Home, located at 921 W 45th Ave., Griffith. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 6, 2020 at 10am with his father-in-law, Howard Koonce officiating. Burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond, IN
