Jacob Hoogewerf age 90 of Griffith, passed away on Friday November 17, 2017.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years Letha; sons Bert Hoogewerf ,  and Dirk Hoogewerf ; 7 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren, and by his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jacob and Rinkje Hoogewerf; siblings Ted, Bud, Hilda and Grace and by his daughter Rita.

Friends may meet with the family on Tuesday November 21, 2017 from 3:00 pm- 8:00 pm at WHITE FUNERAL HOME located at 921 W. 45th Avenue in Griffith.

Jacob retired from Highland Lumber after 43 years. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local #142 and the NW Indiana Deaf Club. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family
