J. D. Seiber age 83 of Griffith passed away on Monday October 17, 2016.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years: Mary;  Son: David (Karin) Seiber; Grandson: David Tossberg; Brother: Henry (Kay) Seiber; Sisters-in-law: Deanna (Rex) Davis-Ward and Loretta Seiber.

He is preceded in death by his parents Hubert and Alice, brother R.C. and daughter Tammy.

Friends may meet with the family on Thursday October 20, 2016 from 4-8:00 pm at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45th Avenue Griffith.

There will also be a visitation on Saturday October 22, 2016 at 10:00 am at Holly –Gamble Funeral Home located at 2827 Highway 116 in Carysville, TN .  Funeral services will follow at 12 noon with Rex Ward officiating.

Burial will follow at Leach Cemetery in Lake City, TN.

J. D. was a Veteran, having served in the U.S. Army 6th Infantry Unit in Berlin Germany from 1953-1955.  After discharge J. D. worked hard for the benefit of his family for the rest of his life.  He worked at Inland Steel for 34 years.  Soon after retiring from the mill in 1991, he began working full time for Lake County Indiana Government.  He was a weights and measures inspector at the time of his death.  J. D.'s kindness, patience and above all his generosity were a gift to all who knew him.
