Henry A. Magiera age 88 of Griffith, passed away on Tuesday November 21, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Mary; children Michael (Jamie) Magiera, Paul (Jennifer) Magiera, Edward Magiera, Judith (Eddie) Sutton, Jeffrey (Sheryl) Magiera, Kathleen (Dave) Tarrant, Teresa (Jeff) Pyle, and Joseph (Dawn) Magiera; 22 grandchildren and 16 Great grandchildren; sisters; Hedy Milshoff, Dorothy Kirkland,  Genevieve Goodwine; brother Alex (Ila) Magiera; daughter-in-law Reyna, and by his best friend Donald Hoover. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Mary Magiera, son Raymond, daughter Catherine, brothers Walter, Leo, and Frank, and by his sisters Mary and Vicki. Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 25, 2017 at 12 noon at St. Mary Catholic Church located at 525 N. Broad St. in Griffith with Fr. Theodore Mens celebrating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville. Friends may meet the family on Friday November 24th from 3:00 pm -8:00 pm at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45th Avenue in Griffith.  Henry was retired from the Griffith Public Schools.  He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the St. Mary's Mens Club, and the Thursday Bible Study Group. Henry was a former employee of ECI Oil Refinery and he was an Army Veteran during the Korean War.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Mary Catholic Church or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
