Helen D. Haynes age 82 of Schererville passed away on Thursday, Nov. 29 ^th , 2012

She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years John D.

3 sisters: Mary (late John) Vaux, Wanda (late Greg) Swantko, Rhonda Marie Baker

1 brother: Randy (Lois) Baker

2 sisters-in-law: Lois Evans, Barbara Scheeringa

1 brother-in-law: Elmo Mitchell

Preceded in death by infant children Patsy and Butchy, parents Mable Baker and John Evans, brothers Norman, Carl, James Evans, and sisters Margaret Arnold and Regina Mitchell.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, Dec. 3 ^rd at 10:00am at White Funeral Home located at

921 W. 45 ^th Avenue Griffith, Indiana

With  Rev. James Williams officiating

Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville

Friends may meet with the family on Sunday, Dec.2, 2012 from 5:00-9:00 pm at

White Funeral Home

Helen was born July 8, 1930 in Owensboro,KY. After moving to Indiana she married John

D. and together they raised 3 children in the Black Oak section of Gary. As a homemaker

Helen was very active in her community by serving as a Precinct Committeeman and her children's school as the PTA President. She was very skilled seamstress and baker. She won several ribbons at the Lake County Fair for her Craft projects and her children, grandchildren,

nieces and nephews were all honored to have their wedding cake designed and baked by her.

Helen touched many hearts and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and great granddaughters.
